Please check back frequently for new additions as well as updates to previously posted entries. When researching such information one finds many inconsistencies and gaps. Please feel free to point out any corrections and fill in any gaps by emailing me at ohio16@mkwe.com.

Note that specific regiments, including the 16th Ohio, were often brigaded together, a brigade typically consisting of from two to five regiments totalling from 2000 to 4000 men. Also, specific companies of the same regiment were frequently assigned different tasks or detached to other commands and could be at locations different than the main regiment, sometimes separated by many miles and for extended periods of time. The information, below, lists the location of the main part of the 16th OVI, as best as can be ascertained. Mention will be made when specific elements of the regiment are in different locations as far as can be determined. Mileages, below, are taken from anecdotal reports of the time or estimates using modern day maps and should be considered approximate.
