BACK TO THE BOATS

On this day, Pvt. Peter Perrine states the 16th Ohio boarded the steamboats, moored on the Arkansas River at Arkansas Post, Arkansas. He mentions they experienced a hard rain and snow. Pvt. Newt Gorsuch, Company B, tells us the snow was four inches deep, an unexpected sight that far south.
