THE REGIMENT MOVES FURTHER SOUTH

On April 13 the regiment left Richmond and marched to Smith's Plantation, Louisiana, following closely the route of Roundaway Bayou. Pvt. Peter Perrine, Company C, in his diary states the location is about 20 miles from Richmond and three miles from New Carthage, Louisiana.
