Regimental Honor Roll
Those Who Died For the Preservation of the Union
Web Author's Notes:
Below is transcribed the Honor Roll of the 16th OVI. This list presents 208 names of soldiers who were killed or died for various reasons during their wartime service in the 16th OVI. Entries are sorted alphabetically by last name. Thanks to fellow 16th OVI descendant, John Pierson, for providing the resource for this document.

Update: Further research is identifying a number of soldiers that died as a result of the war but who are not listed on the original honor roll. Most of these, but not all, died in other units after serving in the 90-day 16th Ohio. To recognize these soldiers their names have been added to the roll, below. and are shown with an asterisk to distinguish them from the names on the original document. Soldier's names shown as links will take you to additional information and a photo of their gravesite within the Laid To Rest section of this website.
