on the 11th of March returning the same day marching 24 miles. The next on the 21st going on what is called the Harlan road. The force was four Regts of Infantry and one Section of 9th Ohio Battery. we got within about 2 miles of the Gap. drive in the rebel pickets and bivouacked for the night. |

Skirmished most all day and in the evening moved our position about one mile to the right where we bivouacked for the night |
