Hall diary

Early hours this morning. found the roads tolerable good. marched 11 miles arriving at Sublimity Springs on Rock Castle river about one oclock. we were quartered in a large Hotel and other buildings joining it this Hotel was built for the accomadation of visitors coming to the spring. we were detained here 3 days in consequence of the rapid rise of the river making it dangerous and difficult to cross. The scenery here is beautiful.
" 5th Crossed over the river this morning and after carrying all of our baggage nearly one mile to the top of the mountain. went 12 miles and camped about dark in the woods. heavy thunder shower to night
