27th Reg't left Camp Tiffin and went by Rail Road to Camp Dennison 12 miles north of Cincinnatti and 210 from Wooster. We were quartered in unfinished barracks which owing to the dampness of the weather caused some sickness in the regt. The Organization of the regt was Completed wihle here. staid at this place 17 days.
Dec 14th Regt drew French rifles with Sabre bayonets
" 17th Took cars this morning and went by the way of Cincinnatti to Lexington Ky. distance 102 miles . we were necessarily detained a few hours at Covington. Arrived at Lexington early on the morning of the 18th and marched out ot the trotting course where we went into Camp. the ground was very level and
