These slightly more detailed maps, drawn by E. A. Munn from General Morgan's map of the
battlefield, show the movements of the Union forces from their landing at the
Johnson Plantation on December 26, 1862, to the primary battle clash on December
29, in the fields and bayous below Chickasaw Bluffs. The 16th OVI was part of Col.
John DeCourcey's brigade under General G. W. Morgan.
