Discharge document given to Pvt. James M Fink upon his mustering out of the 16th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on August 11, 1863, at Camp Chase (near Columbus), Ohio. Pvt. Fink was a drafted member of Company H, serving for nine months from October 8, 1862. Drafted members of the regiment, though only serving nine months, experienced the bloodiest battles of the regiment.
